Every product in your store starts with sample prices. Before you take orders, check that they match what you charge at the counter. You need to be the store owner or a manager to change prices.
1. Open a product’s pricing
- In the admin menu, under Catalog, open Products.
- Find the product. Each row shows its name, its kind (such as business cards) and a grey tag naming how it’s priced, such as Base + Add-ons or Per-Page Tiers. Use Show at the top to see one category at a time.
- Press the $ button on the row. The Edit Pricing window opens.
If a row says “Your board says from $…” in amber, FlowPrinter thinks that price looks high for that kind of product. Press Check the price to open the same window and look.
2. Read what customers will pay
The grey box at the top says Your board will say: followed by the product and its price, for example Business Cards from $29.99. That’s the price on your store’s product list, for the choices the product page opens with. If it’s wrong, the rest of the window is where you fix it.
Pricing Model says how the total is worked out. You rarely need to change it; the products in your catalog come set up the way that kind of product is usually sold:
- Base + Add-ons: a starting price, plus extra for the quantity, size, sides or paper the customer picks. Business cards and yard signs work this way.
- Per-Page Tiers or Per-Piece Tiers: a price for each page or piece, cheaper as the count goes up. Flyers and brochures work this way.
- Pricing Matrix: a price per copy for each paper size, black-and-white or color, and one or two sides, with percent-off at higher counts. Copies work this way.
- Size-Based Price: each size has its own price, times the quantity.
- Per Square Foot: banners, priced from their width and height.
3. Change the prices
Below the model, the window shows only the prices that model uses. The common ones:
- Base Price → Starting price: what the product costs before anything is added.
- Quantity Options: the amounts customers choose from (such as 250, 500 and 1,000 cards) and the extra each one adds to the starting price. Press the circle next to one to make it the amount the product page opens on. Add quantity adds another.
- Sizes, Sides, Fold Types, Color Modes and the rest: what each choice adds. Leave it at $0.00 for no extra charge.
- Per-Page Pricing Tiers: the price per page from each count up. The highest tier the order reaches is the one that applies. Add tier adds another break.
- Pricing Matrix (copies): the price of one copy for each size and color/sides pair, with Volume Discount Tiers below it taking a percent off at higher counts.
Watch the Your board will say line at the top as you type: it updates straight away. When it reads right, press Save Pricing. The change is live on your store immediately.
Also in this window
- Listing Display Price → Starting at: the price search engines and search results show. Keep it at or below the price the product opens at.
- Sale: a percent off this product, with an optional end date. Customers see the sale price everywhere and that’s what they’re charged.
- Paper is priced in its own window. See Set up paper types.
4. Check it on your store
Press View Store at the bottom of the admin menu, open the product and try a few choices. The price under the options is the price at checkout.
If it says “Priced to order”
A product whose choices add up to $0.00 shows Priced to order on your store, and customers ask you for a quote instead of adding it to their cart. The Edit Pricing window warns you in amber when that will happen. Give it a starting price, or the missing size a price, and save.
