Terms of Service
Last updated
FlowPrinter gives independent shipping stores and print shops an online storefront: a catalog with print options, artwork upload, checkout through the store’s own Stripe account, and an order dashboard.
These terms are the agreement between FlowPrinter (“FlowPrinter”, “we”, “us”) and the business that opens a store (“you”, “your store”). If you are buying from a store that runs on FlowPrinter, your purchase is with that store — see section 8 — and our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.
Your account
You open a store by giving it a name, a web address, a work email and a password. You must be authorized to act for the business, and the details you give must be accurate and kept current — the contact email is where order alerts and account notices go.
You are responsible for what happens under your login. Keep your password private, and tell us at hello@flowprinter.com if you think someone else has used your account.
A store address (flowprinter.com/store/your-name) is yours while your store is active. Addresses that would clash with FlowPrinter’s own pages are reserved, and we limit how many stores one account can create.
Your store and what you sell
Your name, logo, colors, product descriptions, prices, About text and everything else you put in your store stay yours. You give us permission to store, display and transmit them to run the service — showing your storefront to customers, emailing your order confirmations, sending a job to a producer you chose.
You decide what you sell and at what price, including the prices your store opens with, which are starting points for you to confirm. You are responsible for producing and delivering what your customers order, for its quality, for refunds and disputes with your customers, and for collecting and remitting any sales tax that applies. The tax rate setting is a tool; whether and how much to charge is your call.
Customers upload artwork for you to print. We do not review it. You are responsible for deciding whether a job can be produced lawfully, and your customers are responsible for having the rights to what they upload.
You may not use FlowPrinter to:
- sell or print anything unlawful, or infringe someone else’s trademark, copyright or other rights;
- upload malware, or probe, scrape or overload the service or other stores;
- send unsolicited email through the service, or open stores for people who did not ask for them;
- resell or share access to the platform itself.
Trial, plans and billing
Every new store starts a 14-day free trial with the features of the Pro plan. No card is needed to start and nothing is charged when the trial ends. You can pick a plan at any point during the trial.
When a trial ends, or a paid subscription lapses, there is a 7-day grace period. After that your storefront stays visible and you can still sign in, but checkout is closed until a plan is active again. Choosing a plan reopens it.
Plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, at the prices on the pricing section when you subscribe. Annual plans are billed for the year up front. Billing runs through Stripe; your card details go to Stripe and are not stored by us.
You can cancel, change your card or download invoices at any time from Subscription in your dashboard, which opens Stripe’s billing portal. Cancelling stops future charges; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Payments already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
Plans differ in what they include — subdomains, custom domains, coupons, large-format products, the PrintJobFlow integration. Moving to a plan without a feature switches that feature off for your store. If we change a plan’s price, we will email you at least 30 days before it affects your next bill.
Payments from your customers
Card payments go through your own Stripe account, which you connect from Settings. Charges are made directly on that account: the money is yours from the moment it is paid, and FlowPrinter never holds it and takes no share of it. Stripe’s processing fees are paid by you to Stripe under Stripe’s own terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which you accept when you connect.
Stripe decides when your account may take card payments, based on the business details you give them. Until it does, and until you switch test mode off, your store runs in test mode: orders go through as practice orders with no charge, clearly marked as tests in your dashboard and in the emails they generate.
You are the merchant of record for every sale. Chargebacks and refunds are handled between you, your customer and Stripe.
Optional integrations and the network
PrintJobFlow is a separate production product with its own terms. If your plan includes the integration and you turn it on with your own PrintJobFlow API key, we send each order’s line items, artwork and the customer details needed to produce it to your PrintJobFlow account, and read job status back. What PrintJobFlow does with that data is governed by your agreement with PrintJobFlow.
The network lets a store sell what another store produces, or produce for other stores. Those arrangements — pricing, turnaround, quality, who is liable for what — are between the stores involved. FlowPrinter passes the job and its artwork to the producer and shows both sides the status; it is not a party to the wholesale agreement.
Domains. A yourshop.flowprinter.com subdomain belongs to FlowPrinter and is yours to use while your plan includes it. A custom domain must be one you own; we register it with our hosting provider and verify it through DNS records you control. Either kind stops resolving when the plan that includes it ends.
Availability and support
We work to keep FlowPrinter available and make reasonable efforts to announce planned maintenance, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Parts of the service depend on providers we do not control — hosting, database, payments, email — and their outages can affect your store.
Support is by email at hello@flowprinter.com. Growth and Pro plans are answered first; Pro includes onboarding help when you set up.
Suspending or closing a store
You can close your store at any time by cancelling your plan and emailing us. We keep your data for a reasonable period afterwards so you can come back, and delete it on request — see the Privacy Policy for what is kept and why.
We may suspend or close a store that breaks these terms, does not pay, puts other stores or customers at risk, or exposes us to legal claims. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Your customers
When someone buys from your store, their contract is with you. You set the prices, you produce the work, you handle questions and refunds. We provide the storefront, the checkout and the emails on your behalf.
You are responsible for telling your customers how you use their information. Our Privacy Policy describes what FlowPrinter collects and does with it, and every storefront links to it. Your customers’ order details, contact details and artwork are available to you in your dashboard; use them to fulfil their orders and as your own privacy commitments allow.
A customer’s sign-in is a FlowPrinter account: the same email and password work at any store on the platform, and each store sees only the orders placed with it.
FlowPrinter’s property
The platform — its software, design, name and logo — belongs to FlowPrinter. These terms give you the right to use it to run your store and nothing more. Your store’s own branding and content remain yours, as section 2 says.
If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything, and without you giving up any rights in your own business.
Disclaimers and limits on liability
FlowPrinter is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, that it will meet a particular need, or that a given order, email or integration will succeed. Where the law lets us, we exclude all implied warranties.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost customers, lost data, or indirect or consequential losses, and we are not liable for the acts of your customers, of other stores in the network, or of the providers named in the Privacy Policy.
You agree to cover us for claims brought by others that arise from what you sell, what you or your customers upload, or your breach of these terms.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. For changes that matter, we will email the store’s contact address at least 14 days before they take effect. Using the service after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, cancel before then. The date at the top of this page is the date of the last change.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard in its courts. Before either of us goes to court, we agree to try to resolve the matter by email first.
Questions about these terms: hello@flowprinter.com.
